HOW IT WORKS

Off to a good start!

The SHARE NOW app is your key. For everything. With it you can update your information, add and edit payment cards, see the Home Area and reserve, unlock and lock our cars.

But how does it actually work? Can you make a stop during your trip? And what should you do when you’re ready to end your trip? The app will help you get started, but sometimes a little in-depth explanation helps. Get it here.

READY, SET…

How to start a trip

1. Reserve a car

Open the app, choose your car and tap ‘Reserve’. The first 30 minutes of your reservation are free.

2. Unlock it

Tap ‘Start’ in the app, select your rate and use Face ID or similar to unlock the car. Your trip starts at this point.

If you notice a new scratch or dent, please report it through the app before you start your trip.

3. Start it – and go!

To start the engine, press down the brake and push the START/STOP* button in the car. Keep your foot on the brake and set the gear to ‘D’ to go forward or ‘R’ to reverse**.

Lift your foot from the brake pedal and you’ll be on your way. Enjoy!

*In BMW models, the button is placed behind the steering wheel. In MINI, the button is placed in the centre console in front of the gear shift.
**BMW 1 Series, BMW X1, MINI: Press the brake and push and hold ‘UNLOCK’ on the gear shift to change gears.
**Mercedes-Benz A-Class, BMW i3: The gear shift is placed behind the steering wheel on the right-hand side.

PARK AND LOCK

How to end a trip

1. Park inside the Home Area

You can park the car at any public parking space, as long as the car can stay parked for two hours. There must be no restrictions during certain hours.

2. End your trip with the app

Parked within the lines? Way to go. Close all doors and end your trip with the app. When the doors are locked, your trip ends and your payment stops. Be a good sport and leave the car in the condition you’d like to find it.

3. See trip details

Find trip details and download invoices for all your trips in the app, whenever you want.

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT THE

Home Area

Trips must be ended inside the Home Area

You can drive anywhere within Denmark, but to end the trip, you need to be inside the Home Area. The Home Area is our operative area, in which SHARE NOW cars free-float around the city. You can cross the border to Sweden, but not other countries.

Satellite areas

These are smaller areas outside the Home Area, where you can end your trip. Examples include Copenhagen Airport, IKEA in Gentofte and Taastrup, hospitals in the Capital Region as well as a number of parking areas connected to companies.

Pick up and drop off zones

In some areas, a pick up and/or a drop off fee applies. We really don’t mean to annoy you. The areas cost more for us to operate, and instead of removing them from the map entirely, we’re offering you to start or end your trip there at a fee.

Selected private parking areas

As a rule of thumb, parking in private areas is not allowed – but there are exceptions. Read more here.
