From IJburg to de Zuidas — you’ve never done car rental like this before. With car-sharing, there's no need to buy or lease a car. It's just like having your own car in Amsterdam. Just pick up any of our cars parked near your favourite café and drop it off anywhere in the Home Area when you're done. How does it work?

1. Find a car

We don't do rental stations! Our cars are available 24/7 and free-float all around the Home Area. Use the SHARE NOW app to find an available car near you. Reserve the car to make it yours — and start walking over!

2. Unlock the car

Once you're at the car, unlock it with a push of a button in the SHARE NOW app. Choose a minute, hourly, or daily rate that meets your needs — then start your trip! You can drive outside the Home Area and any charging costs are on us.

3. Drop off anywhere

Simply end your trip anywhere in Amsterdam — no need to look for a drop-off station or refuel the car! Public street parking in the Amsterdam Home Area is for free¹ so you don't even have to worry about that.

Where can I park for free?

Within the Home Area, you’re home free. Think of it as our operative zone, in which our SHARE NOW cars free-float around the city and public street parking is always free. Here's where you can park SHARE NOW cars in Amsterdam:

On The Streets

Public street parking is always for free within the Home Area. And we have dedicated car-sharing parking spots all over town. Simply look for "P" signs in the app.

Drop Off Zones

From shopping outlets to popular neighbourhoods, we have convenient drop off zones in areas just outside Amsterdam where you can park and end your trip. A drop off fee will apply.

Outside Amsterdam

You can drive outside the Amsterdam Home Area – as long as you bring the car back to end your trip. To make a stopover, simply lock the car with the key or via the app.

You are responsible for parking costs incurred in private parking garages, with the exception of Q-Park Stadsplein (Amstelveen Stadshart) and WTC Schiphol parking. Additional parking rules apply.

The minute rate includes 200km of mileage. A long distance rate of € 0,39 per kilometer will apply for each additional kilometer after the included mileage. Hourly and daily rates do not include mileage and each kilometre driven will be charged € 0,19. The daily price displayed is for a 30-day rental.

A Driver Protection Fee (DPF) of € 0,99 will apply to each trip booked using the minute or hourly rate. The DPF applies to M and L category cars, i.e. BMW or Mercedes-Benz. All rates with the smart already include insurance. In case of damages, the DPF effectively reduces your deductible by 250 €. Learn more in our terms and conditions.
