PLUG-IN GUIDE

How to charge an electric car in France

Charging an electric car is fun and – dare we say – addictive! We don't expect you to charge our electric cars after every trip. However, if you do, the cost of charging is covered by us and we'll even give you SHARE NOW credit as a thank you. Here's how to do it:

Check for a green light on top of the pole.

An important reminder: Belib' charging stations are NOT the same as Autolib' parking!

in the glove compartment or armrest.

Note: smart cars do not have any charging card. To charge a smart, scan the QR code on the charging pole and follow the instructions on your smartphone ("Proceed without any account", "T2/T3 cable"). You'll have to pay upfront via credit card but you can claim your money back with an email to our customer support making sure to attach the receipt.

The cable is stored in the boot and can vary depending on the car model. It's thick with a large plug on either end.

by swiping the card on the station's card reader. The charging pole opens.

Note: The first generation of Belib' charging stations must be activated via a central command pole located nearby. Enter the charging pole's number and select cable type T2.

UNPLUG GUIDE

How to unplug an electric car in France

One of the perks of free-floating car-sharing is that you can locate electric cars anywhere throughout the Home Area. If you are looking for maximum range, though, we recommend starting your trip in a car that is waiting at a charging station, full and ready to hit the road. Here's how to unplug electric cars:

Check for a sticker and a green light on top of the pole. An important reminder: Autolib' charging stations are NOT the same as Autolib' parking!

The charging cable is connected at both ends, but you'll need to unplug the it from the charging point on the car first.

You may have to lift the cover first. You are now disconnected at both ends - that's good!

And return it the boot of the car. Put the card back in the holder too. You're now good to go - enjoy the drive!
