Are there different categories of SHARE NOW cars?

When pre-booking, our cars are priced according to their size and quality. Choose from 4 main categories: XS, S, M and L.

You can discover all car models available on our fleet page.

Cars are subject to availability in each city.

Are SHARE NOW cars insured?

Yes. All SHARE NOW cars are covered by third-party liability insurance and your deductible is always automatically reduced to a specific amount in case of an accident. This agreement is waived, however, in cases of gross negligence.

Plus Coverage is also available on all rates, reducing your deductible to just 250 € and adding glass and tyre damage cover and Roadside Assistance in the Home Area. Plus Coverage starts from 0,99 €.

To learn more, please check out our terms and conditions.

How can I find cars with the lowest prices?

You can easily find our lowest prices by looking for cars marked with a red sticker in the app. The discount applies to the minute rate, which changes according to time and location. The minute rate applies from the moment you reserve the car – no matter where or when you end the trip.

What is a drop off zone?

Drop off zones are part of the Home Area. A drop off fee applies when you park the car and end your trip in drop off zones (marked "Zone A" or "Zone B" on the Home Area map). In some cases, a fee is also charged for pick-up from a drop off zone.

Are there additional costs if I exceed the time or mileage included in my rate?

Yes. After you exceed the fixed time or fixed mileage of the rate, a different fee for each additional minute and/or kilometre will apply. This is charged on top of the rate price. To see these additional fees, simply tap on a rate in the app. Detailed pricing information will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Minute rate
After 200 km, the long distance rate of 0,39 € per additional kilometre will apply.

Hourly rates
After time runs out, the overtime minute rate (rate depends on car model) will apply.

Daily rates
After time runs out, the overtime minute rate (rate depends on car model) will apply.

Why does the minute rate change according to time and location?

You might have noticed that the minute rate for each car changes depending on where and when you look in the app. The reason is: availability! Sometimes there are too few or too many cars when and where you need them. To get cars moving to the right spots, the minute rate automatically adjusts itself based on time and location.

The advantages:
✓ Cars in low demand areas are discounted daily so they are more likely to be driven.
✓ For just a few cents more or less, demand and supply are brought back into balance.
✓ This improves the availability of cars throughout the Home Area so you can find a car at the right place and time – for the right price.
✓ Our prices are capped and never exceed the maximum price range.

You can always see the latest minute rate by tapping on a car. Simply look out for cars with red stickers in the app to enjoy the lowest price. Happy bargain-hunting!

A base fee will be charged for each trip that meets the following conditions:

  • Minute rate
  • Hourly rates
What is a deductible?

In an insurance policy, the deductible is the amount paid out of pocket by the policy holder before an insurance provider will pay any expenses.

In other words: The lower the deductible, the better the insurance coverage.

With SHARE NOW, your deductible is always automatically reduced to a specific amount in case of an accident. The deductible is 1,000 € (or 250 € when Plus Coverage is pre-booked). To learn more, please check our terms and conditions.

Do I have to pay the toll costs?

The toll sticker (vignette) for motorways and expressways is covered in Vienna for Austria. However, in other SHARE NOW countries, you are expected to pay the toll costs when you drive on the motorways.

  • Austria: The vignettes cover the toll costs for motorways and expressways.*

*Special route toll: In Austria, section toll rates on construction-intensive Alpine crossings are NOT included and must be covered at your own expense.

What is the rookie fee?

The rookie fee is a measure that only applies to younger drivers aged 18 to 20, who are newer and less experienced. This small fee applies to each ride in addition to the base fee.

This measure aims at sustaining the accessibility of car-sharing for everyone so that younger drivers can find a car when they need one through an affordable fee structure.
