Parking Rules

Where can I park in Copenhagen?

You can park SHARE NOW cars for free on any public street parking space within the Copenhagen Home Area, as long as the car can stay parked for a minimum of 2 hours in a parking space with no restrictions during certain hours or days. You must ensure that you comply with both our parking guidelines and terms and conditions as well as the parking rules for the municipality in which you park.

Four tips to remember when parking

Check street signs and parking disc

Be sure to check that the automatic parking disc shows the correct time.

The car must be parked in a public parking space. You're not allowed to end your trip next to a “parking not allowed” sign (forbudsskilt) (e.g. parking and/or stopping not allowed), including in spaces with restrictions during certain hours or days. For example, you're not allowed to end a trip in an area where parking is prohibited between 7 and 9 AM – no matter at which time of day you're parking the car.

Park at least 10m away from intersections

You must park the car at least 10m away from intersections. In most places, these are marked with a small, yellow triangle on the curb.

Don’t park in private or reserved spaces

You're not allowed to park in private spaces, taxi spaces, disabled parking spaces or similar. Some private spaces are however allowed.

SHARE NOW cars are not ‘delebiler’

Even though thousands of people share our cars every day, you're not allowed to end your trip in so-called car-sharing spaces (in Danish: ‘delebil’). It’s a different category altogether and we don’t hold that licence.
