How far can I drive with an electric car?

Fully charged, our electric cars can drive up to 339 km, based on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Duty Vehicles Test Procedure. In short, WLTP. The range of an electric vehicle depends on weather conditions and driving style. In cold weather and at highway speeds, the battery is drained significantly faster.

MINI Electric: Up to 234 km
BMW i3: Up to 308 km
Fiat 500e: Up to 320 km
Peugeot e-208: Up to 339 km

The battery level will be displayed in the app and/or in the car. Please bear in mind that there may be far between charging stations outside the Home Area.

Please note: You cannot charge our electric cars in Sweden.

How do I lock the car without ending my trip?

Doing a stopover with SHARE NOW is easy. First, park the car and shut all windows. The next steps depends on the car:

Keyless cars (BMW, MINI):
- In the app, tap Stopover. This will lock the doors.
- To unlock the doors, tap Unlock car. Reactive the car engine in the app to continue driving.
- Want to end your trip? Park the car and shut all doors and windows. In the app, slide to end your trip.

Cars with keys:
- Take the car key from the glove compartment to lock up the car. Make sure to take the car key with you.
- To unlock the doors, use the car key. Reactive the car engine in the app to continue driving.
- Want to end your trip? Place the car key back into the key card holder. Make sure doors and windows are closed. In the app, slide to end your trip.

Important: Stopover time counts as part of your total trip duration. If you have selected an hourly or daily rate, stopover time will continue to use up the time you have booked. If you have selected the minute rate, stopover time will be billed according to the minute rate.

Can I cross the Øresund Bridge in a SHARE NOW car?

Yes, absolutely!

Our cars are added to the automatic licence plate recognition at the Øresund Bridge toll station, which means that you can pass through the toll station in any of our cars. The price is 200 kr. one-way and you'll be charged to your payment profile 1-3 business days after you've passed through the toll station.

Here's how it works:

  1. Find a car in the app and cross the Øresund Bridge. If you choose an electric car, please make sure to check the battery level. Charging in Sweden is not possible.
  2. When you're at the toll station, you need to pass through in the green lanes. The barrier opens automatically when the SHARE NOW car is recognised.
  3. You pay 200 kr. one-way over the Øresund Bridge and will receive the invoice with the toll fee 1-3 business days after you've passed through. Please note: In total, you'll receive three invoices for your trip: one for your actual trip and one for each pass through the toll station.
  4. On your way back towards Denmark, you just do the same as on the way out. Before your trip, please make sure to check Sweden's parking rules and speed limits.
Can I cross the Storebælt Bridge in a SHARE NOW car?

Yes, absolutely. However, our cars are not added to the automatic licence plate recognition at the Storebælt Bridge toll station.

You can pay the toll fee with your own payment card or cash.

Can I travel with SHARE NOW cars to another country?

Danish customers in Denmark may roam to Sweden exclusively. If you drive to other countries, you'll be charged a service fee. Please note, that you cannot charge our electric cars in Sweden.

In countries where pre-booking is available, you can travel abroad by adding the Cross Borders option to your trip. Pre-booking is available for trips from 1 to 30 days (varies by country) and can also be found in the app under Plan trip. The Cross Borders option doesn't include highway tolls or vignette stickers, and you can only end the trip back in your Home Area. Safe travels!

Unfortunately, international travels are not allowed for SHARE NOW cars in France, Hungary, or Spain. Leaving the country will result in a fine. You may leave the Home Area temporarily to visit other cities within the country as long as you start and end your trip in the same Home Area.

Are there additional costs if I exceed the time or mileage included in my rate?

Yes. After you exceed the time and/or mileage in a package, extra fees for each additional minute and/or kilometer will apply. When you end your trip, the fees will be added to your invoice.

To see these additional fees, simply tap on a rate or package in the app. Detailed pricing information will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Do I have to pay the toll costs?

In most SHARE NOW countries, you are expected to pay the toll costs when you drive on the motorways.

Denmark
Our cars are added to the automatic licence plate recognition at the Øresund Bridge toll station. Read more here.

Hungary
Mobility Start Package (MobS) covers the toll costs within Pest county.

Austria
The vignettes cover the toll costs for motorways and expressways. However, the special route tolls rates on construction-intensive Alpine crossings are NOT included and must be covered at your own expense.

Can I book a car in advance?

Yes, you can!

With pre-booking, you decide exactly where and when you want your car. We'll bring your pre-booked car to within a 10 minute walking distance (approx. 600m) of your requested pick-up address — within the Home Area, of course! The car will be reserved for you in the app 1 hour before and 1 hour after your selected start time.

You can pre-book a car up to 90 days before you need it. Pre-booking is exclusively available for car category XS, S, and M long term rentals from 1 day and up.

Please note: Pre-booking may be sold out at any time.

Can I drive to another city?

Yes. You can drive outside of the Copenhagen Home Area to other cities, but you must drive the car back to the Home Area to end your trip.

You may not leave the country with SHARE NOW cars – with the exception of Sweden (for Danish users).

Can I park my car at charging stations?

You can park the car at most charging stations if the car is charging, but you can't always end your trip there.

Denmark
You can park at any of our charging partners, but you can only end your trip inside the Home Area. At some charging stations, e.g. Lüders parking garage in Nordhavn, it is only allowed to park if the car is charging at the same time. At other stations, e.g. P-hus Ejler Bille in Ørestad, you're only allowed to park the car at selected spots. Always make sure to follow local signage when you park.

We encourage you to charge the car when parking at a charging station, even if it's not mandatory. This way, the charging network can be utilised most efficiently.

Austria
In Vienna, it is not allowed to end your trip at the SMATRICS charging stations. We recommend only parking at these stations during a stopover (it is allowed to use these charging stations only while a car is charging). See parking rules in Vienna

France
In Paris, it is only allowed to end your trip at the Belib' charging poles if the car is actively charging. See parking rules in Paris

Germany
Yes. It is allowed to park and end your trip at all our partner charging stations if a car is correctly plugged in and charging. See parking rules for Germany.

Italy
Yes. It is allowed to park and end your trip at all our BeCharge and Enel X partner charging stations in Milan if a car is correctly plugged in and charging. See parking rules in Milan

Netherlands
Yes. It is allowed to park and end your trip at the Vattenfall (formerly Nuon) charging stations if a car is correctly plugged in and charging. See parking rules in the Netherlands.

Spain
In Madrid, it is only allowed to end your trip at the charging hubs if the car is actively charging. See parking rules in Madrid

Hint: To earn credit, please make sure to end your trip after the car has started charging!

How do I charge an electric car?

Charging an electric car is safe and simple. With SHARE NOW, you can charge at E.ON, Clever, Spirii, and IONITY charging stations. Here's how you do:

  1. Take the charging cable from the boot of the car.
  2. Open the car's charging port with a gentle tap and plug in the cable. The charging port is located above the rear wheel.
  3. There is a chip in the plug of the charging cable. Scan the plug on the top or side of the charging station to activate charging, then plug in the cable.
  4. The car is charging when the lights around the car's charging port light up.

Hint: Each time you fully charge a car that has less than 30% battery level, you earn 30 kr. in SHARE NOW credit. If the car has less than 15%, you can earn as much as 60 kr. in SHARE NOW credit. This will be used to pay for your trips and trip related costs.

Please note: If the battery level is below 5%, you're obligated to charge the car (if the circumstances allow it)

How do I refuel SHARE NOW cars?

You don't have to refuel our cars, but if you choose to, the cost is on us and we might even give you SHARE NOW credit for it! Here's how to refuel our cars:

  1. Head to a Circle K partner gas station
  2. Look for the fuel card in the armrest between the seats
  3. The PIN for the fuel card will be displayed in the app
  4. Determine the correct fuel type by checking inside the car's fuel tank door
  5. Enter the fuel card PIN at the gas station terminal
  6. Fuel up

Fueling is free unless you do so at unapproved petrol stations.

Can I let someone else drive the car using my SHARE NOW account?

For short trips in the city, only the person who owns the account may drive the car. However, if you pre-book a trip for 1 to 30 days, an additional driver can be added to your booking for a fee of 50 kr. per day.
